Step Up was set up to improve the range, quality, expertise, level and consistency of advice and support provided by infrastructure organisations to local voluntary and community organisations in Wiltshire. The project covers key areas including finance and fundraising; volunteering, developing volunteers and volunteer management; employee development and employment issues.

As part of the project, this website has been set up to bring together tools and materials already available elsewhere but adapted to make them relevant to the local context and to the needs of Wiltshire voluntary and community organisations which are predominantly small organisations, often entirely volunteer-led. It focuses on the project's specialist areas of fundraising, volunteering, and employee development. 

Step Up is a partnership project run by Charities Information Bureau South & West, The Learning Curve and Volunteer Centre Swindon.  It is funded by the BIG Lottery and was set up with the endorsement of Wiltshire Infrastructure Consortium.
